Sweet Romance
There's almost something magical...about Sweet Romance

Shelley Cooper, Sweet Romance Jewelry Shelley Cooper is a jewelry artist, designer, historian, and businesswoman who has nurtured a love of antique jewelry into a flourishing design and manufacturing company that exquisitely produces the original collections of Sweet Romance. Her designs, derived from a life-long study of antique and vintage jewelry, radiate the authenticity and spirit of many eras of fashion history, from the Renaissance to Retro. The line is entirely produced in her Los Angeles factory, using methods of fabrication and ornament original to the American concept and manufacture of costume jewelry.
Shelley's designs convince the eye of old treasures rediscovered, continually interpreting fashion trends of yesterday and today. The collection's legacy designs enfold stories and memoirs about jewelry, the women who inspired it, and the historical times that gave it expression. These storylines illuminate the lives and times of queens and consorts, fashion doyennes and socialites, vamps and starlets, dreamers and romantics, and our great-grandmothers.
Editorial acclaim in fashion magazines and the use of her jewelry in wardrobing at Paramount Pictures and NBC television has created a following among celebrities, models and their fans. Shelley appears on tv and speaks to university and conference audiences, sharing both her work as an artist, manufacturer and historian.
Sweet Romance designs and manufacturing techniques are unrivaled. The compelling historicism and beauty of the pieces often earn the assumption that they are antique originals. Costume jewelry collectors endorse her designs as significant and investment worthy and the secondary market for the artist's closed editions already command impressive prices. Sweet Romance is distributed through museums, galleries, palaces, cathedrals, castles and fine retailers in the USA, England, France, Russia, Australia and Canada. Ms. Cooper's designs are the property of Sweet Romance and are protected by all rights of international trademark.
From the Designer:
While many pieces of antique and vintage jewelry were passed down through generations, much of it was lost or discarded. Often, jewelry, which is intended for one particular person, ends up in the possession of someone else. Antique shops have been scoured for jeweled reminders of yesterday's sweet memories.
Women yearn for the sentimental, the whimsical and the glamorous fashion jewels of days gone by. I attempt to answer these desires in each of my designs, incorporating the stylistic emphasis of particular historical periods. Every piece has a compelling story about the lives and times of the women who inspired it. Rather than offering a trendy product aimed for the moment, I strive to create articles that are worthy of cherishing as both art and heirloom. Whether you've acquired a dreamy Victorian style or an exuberant '60s retro piece, you will find that Sweet Romance adds true vintage spirit to your wardrobe.
